Action Day?: No
Temperature: 28-32 Wednesday
Discussion:
Wednesday, low pressure will intensify rapidly off the New Jersey coast, bringing in heavy snow and increasing winds. Visibility will be low and travel poor throughout the day. Winds by the end of the day may gust over 40 mph with considerable blowing and drifting, and blizzard conditions at times. Temperatures will hold close to 30 with wind chills in the upper teens. Fine particulate will drop into the good range. Wednesday night, the snow will taper to flurries, but blowing and drifting snow will continue. Total storm accumulations will range between 10 inches in the western part of the partnership area to 20 inches in the eastern areas. Low temperatures Wednesday night in the upper teens.

Extended:
The storm affecting us Wednesday will move into the Canadian Maritimes and stall out there in the Thursday to Saturday time period. This will promote a brisk northwest flow and mainly dry weather for our area. Temperatures will remain several degrees below average into the weekend despite some sunshine each day. We also have to watch a clipper system Sunday night into Monday. This has the potential to produce additional snow across the region. As mentioned yesterday, no mild weather or major warmups are foreseen over the next 10 days or so.---McAuliffe
