The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority's mission is to finance clean, advanced energy projects in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania projects that could potentially qualify for funding from the Authority include solar energy, wind, low-impact hydropower, geothermal, biomass, landfill gas, fuel cells, IGCC, waste coal, coal-mine methane and demand management measures. The Authority presently can award grants, loans and loan guarantees and can develop a variety of other types of funding programs. Tax-exempt and taxable bond financing for energy projects also are available through PEDA's partnership with the Pennsylvania Economic Development Financing Authority (PEDFA).
